Ecuador Gold S.A. – Trenching

Several phases of trench digging and sampling were conducted by Ecuador Gold S.A.

In the Bramaderos-Melonal-Porotillo region Ecuador Gold planned their trenches to coincide with the most promising areas highlighted by prior soil and rock chip sampling surveys. A total of 16 trenches were planned and excavated (CUTR-001 to CUTR-016) over the Bramaderos-Melonal-Porotillo region. The trenches were both excavated by manual labor as well as by a mechanical excavator.

The best trenches were:

  • Porotillo Hill       CUTR-04 bulked at 37.17m @ 0.36g/t Au
  • Melonal South    CUTR-08 bulked at 14.90m @ 0.34g/t Au
  • Bramaderos         CUTR-14 bulked at 8.00m @ 0.33g/t Au

Ecuador Gold S.A. – Ground Magnetics

Ecuador Gold S.A.undertook a ground magnetic survey covering Bramaderos, Melonal and Porotillo (‘Core Zone’) on a grid of 200m spaced and NW-SE oriented lines with readings at 12.5m intervals along the lines.

Sunstone subsequently reprocessed the magnetic data collected by Ecuador Gold S.A. to generate a series of processed images including TMI, 1VD, RTP and Analytical Signal.

Ecuador Gold S.A. – Electrical Geophysics (IP)

Ecuador Gold S.A. contracted Val D’Or of Peru to undertake an electrical geophysical IP and resistivity survey on the Bramaderos-Melonal-Porotillo area from 1-23rd May 2007, to map the extent of stockwork mineralization. Val D’Or surveyed 31 line kilometres using Ecuador Gold field grid, and used a dipole spacing of 50m to see to a depth of around 200m. Val D’Or also provided Ecuador Gold S.A. with a 3D block model of he IP data. Magnetic data was collected simultaneousely (VDG del Peru 2007).

This survey data by Val D’or is a useful dataset to aid in establishing vectors to the better mineralized parts of the Bramaderos and Porotillo porphyry Au-Cu systems.

Sunstone-Cornerstone JV

Since Cornerstone was granted exploration rights on the Bramaderos property in earlier 2017 and entered into a Joint Venture with Sunstone in April 2017 to fund exploration, work has been undertaken in preparation for initial field activities which commenced in July 2017. Thus the exploration activity reported here represents the first month of field activity, for which initial data compilation has commenced.

A series of regional soil sampling programs on the Bramaderos property designed to extend the existing soil grid of Ecuador Gold S.A. to cover the entire property, and also to infill two key parts of the Ecuador Gold S.A. soil grid to allow better definition of geochemical anomalies over the two key porphyry Au-Cu targets: Limon and Bramadero Main has commenced.

A rockchip sampling program was conducted at the Bramaderos Main prospect during detailed geological mapping of the prospect in July and August 2017. A total of 93 samples were collected from outcrops along drainages and elsewhere on the Bramaderos Ridge, Bramaderos Hill and peripheral regions.

Assay results from this rockchip sampling program yielded:

  • 6 samples with gold grades above 0.5g/t and up to 1.82g/t
  • 9 samples with copper grades above 0.1% and up to 0.22% Cu
  • 6 samples with molybdenum grades above 20ppm and up to 101ppm

During July and August 2017 a detailed geological mapping program was conducted across the Bramaderos Main porphyry Au-Cu prospect in order to identify rocktypes, discriminate wall rocks from intrusive, define alteration types and their distribution, map accurately the extent and density of quartz stockwork veining and other vein types, map faults and structures where evident and to define vein orientations. Mapping in July concentrated in the peripheral areas of the Bramaderos Main prospect to allow better observations of lithology and alteration in areas of weaker alteration at the start of the mapping program, thus facilitating subsequent rock identification in the more altered central parts of the system.
